Week 10 - Cammy By Rich Bernatovech

Here's a character I'm not really familiar with and to be honest, I wasn't planning on drawing, lol. But, since I didn't know much about this week's theme on Illustrious Bits of Cammy from Street Fighter, I figured I'd look her up and draw her since it was a challenge and since she was the fans pick for this week. I also have to be honest and say that her costume is almost worse than Psylocke from the X-Men, lol. What woman would wear the outfit she does (and you have to see it from the back to understand that, lol) and be able to fight? Still, she was fun to draw and I did my best not knowing what her personality was like.

Week 9 - Marrow by Andrew Charipar

Well, I was the first one to post last week and the last this week... ughh.

Here's my sketch of Marrow from the X-Men.  She's a really crazy character who's mutant power is to pull bones out of her body and use them as weapons.  I guess for the big bone she pulled out her whole spine, he he he.

enjoy

Week 9 - Marrow by Randy Ostridge

Here is Randy's Marrow for the week. Here is what he had to say about his piece:

This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.Marrow is one of the truly tragic characters in the X-Men that can never quite outrun her past. I am out of touch with her character in more recent storylines, but recall her origins and struggles with the X-Men. Pencil on paper, inked with markers, then coloured in Photoshop

Looks great, Randy!

Here is Danielle's submission for this week's character, Marrow. Here is what she had to say about her piece:

Here is my submission for this weeks subject over at :iconillustriousbits: which is Marvel's Marrow (X-Men/Morlocks). The character was drawn and inked traditionally but I added the background digitally. The background is inspired by my friend :icondlxcsccomicartist:... he always adds neat textures to his backgrounds when he inks. :)

Week 9 - Marrow by Jamie Fay

:iconmooncalfe: chose Marrow, of X-MEN fame, this week. I always liked her and think they started to give her a great storyline and then threw her away.

I decided to do the version of her after she was healed by the Shi'ar and was pretty marrow. Also, so far, I'm the only one who has done this version so far this week. Yay!

Week 8 - She-Ra By Dimitrius Moore

Here is another awesome submission to this She-Ra themed week on Illustrious Bits. This beautiful rendition of She-Ra was done by Dimitrius Moore, the latest contributor of our group. Here's what Dimitrius had to say about his entry:

"So, here's the first of many submissions to the group . This week's subject is any character from She-Ra, so I decided to do the Princess of Power herself. Honestly, I've only ever caught a few episodes of She-Ra growing up, and obviously it wasn't targeted to me like He-man was. Still, the connection between the two was cool. Drawn on 11x14 Canson bristol paper with Col-Erase light blue pencil/2H Lead Holder/Micron 0.5 Pen/Prismacolor warm/cool gray markers (with brick white/light mocha for the gold accents/hair)".

Check out more of Dimitrius's art here.

Week 8 - She-Ra By Danielle Alexis St. Pierre

Here's Danielle Alexis St. Pierre's entry for Illustrious Bits Week 8! Here's what Danielle had to say about her pick for the "any character from She-Ra" theme. "It's been a while since I posted anything to so I decided to do a quick piece today. This week's subject is any character from the She-Ra cartoon and well I went with the Princess of Power herself... mostly because I didn't have a lot of time to look up references of the other characters hehe. I'm not too happy with the inks I did... I rushed them and feel like they look mangled. But it's practice... and practice is a good thing."

Week 8 - Hordak By Randy Ostridge

Here is Randy Ostridge's contribution for Week 8 of Illustrious Bits! Here's what Randy had to say about his choice of character for this week theem e of "any character from She-Ra. "This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.Hordak, leader of the Horde, sitting down after another long day of being defeated. You have to respect the perennial bad guys that never see a single victory. They are a resilient group. Sometimes I wonder what keeps them going, with only a list of failed plans to reflect upon. Probably the royalties from all the merchandise.Pencil on paper, then inked with cool gray and black markers."

Week 8 - Kowl By Dwayne Biddox

I think he did a great job.

Week 8 - She-Ra By Rich Bernatovech

Here's my submission for Week 8 of Illustrious Bits. The subject this week was picked by fans over at Deviant Art and it's any character from the animated series, She-Ra. Since I really don't know much about this series or any of the characters except She-Ra, I decided to draw her. Fun character to draw!

Week 8 - Catra by Andrew Charipar

OK, I will admit, I knew NOTHING about She-Ra (other than the name) and knew nothing about the characters in her universe so...

I had to do the good-old google searchin' and found Catra.  She's a villain in the She-Ra universe.  In doing my research, I found the original costume as well as several different re-designs and I did my own version of the character.

I like her, and I think that's why this sketch got done so quickly.  I did the sketch layout yesterday and finished it this evening.  Pretty quick.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else does.

Week 7 - Gotham Sirens (Take 2) By Rich Bernatovech

I wasn't sure I'd get this version done, but this is my original version of what I planned to do for week 7 of Illustrious Bits. I'm not wild about the background though. I actually imagined it a little differently, but this is how it turned out, lol. I hope to get it colored soon and make it into a print to sell at conventions.

And here is the colored version by Danielle Alexis St. Pierre!!

Week 7 - Killer Croc by Andrew Charipar

Ok, I will be the first to admit, I have fallen behind.

I started this sketch earlier this week and have just not found the "whatever it is" that gets the sketches done.  I still need to add a background and some affects but I don't think it will happen this week soooo... I am going to publish what I have so far.

I took inspiration from several different sources here including the animated version of the character and the video gave version and mixed them together into something I liked.

enjoy

Week 7 - Victor Zsasz by Randy Ostridge

Here is Randy's submission for Any Batman Villain Week - Victor Zsasz! Here is what he had to say about his piece:

This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.

Here we have Victor Zsasz, one of Batman's adversaries. I don't do tonal works with pencils very much anymore, but went with that style for this one. I wanted Zsasz to be very lithe and thin, but still look like he could put up a decent fight.

Pencil on paper.

Great job! I love the shading. ;)

Week 7 - Poison Ivy by Jamie Fay

Here is my entry for this week's Character of the Week - Any Batman Villain. I chose the beautiful, Poison Ivy.

As a fan of the character, she is one character I'm fine with being near nude. It makes sense. She is Mother Earth personified.

I went with my take on the Arkham Asylum version of her. It's a very sexy version and very "Mother Earth" sexy.

I hope you guys like her.

Week 7 - Gotham Sirens By Rich Bernatovech

So, week 7 of Illustrious Bits is my pick of any Batman villain. I originally hoped to finish a full figure drawing of the Gotham Sirens, but since I've been away for a week, I haven't gotten it done yet. I didn't want to rush it and I actually still might finish before the end of the week. But just in case, lol, I did this quick headshot type version of the Gotham Sirens, so I didn't miss out on my own week. :)

Here is what he had to say about his piece:

Here we have Death, from the Sandman. She's a neat take on an ages-old character to be sure.

Lineart in pencil, inks with cool gray and black markers. A little colour adjustment in Photoshop for giggles
.

I can't wait to see what Randy does in the future. Until then, checkout Randy's stuff at http://urrgos.deviantart.com/

Week 6 - Death by Andrew Charipar

Not sure what happened here but I am happy.

I was on a roll... Gambit, knocked it out.  Spider-Woman, done and done, Starfire... had her finished 2 weeks in advance... Death...

nothin'.

Not sure why this drawing took almost 3 full weeks to get done, maybe it was back to back holidays with a birthday thrown in for good measure... maybe.  But here she is.

Not exactly what I had originally planned but I think it came out cooool.

Week 6 - Death by Jamie Fay

So, here is my take on the Character of the Week, Death.

So, the idea with the skull is that it will be a crystal/diamond skull and the eyes will be glowing a bit. Cool light reflections.

Danielle will be coloring it! Isn't sh
e great?
