Week 18 - World's Finest: Huntress and Powergirl by Rich Bernatovech

Here's my contribution to Illustrious Bits Week 18. The subject/character choice this week was "World's Finest: Huntress and/or Powergirl". I decided to draw both together and also decided to draw their pre-DC 52 costumes. I really don't like the new costume for Powergirl. It's just not her and is not unique at all. I always have fun drawing these characters though. :)

Week 17 - Queen Amidala by Andrew Charipar

This is my addition to this weeks subject... Queen Amidala from Star Wars.

This turned into one of those "simple" sketches that took four days to finish.  The initial sketch was perfect and it sat on my drawing table for three additional days... just waiting for me to finish it.  Ughhhh.

Sometimes that happens.

check out more of my stuff here.

Week 17 - Padme by Randy Ostridge

I agree with Randy here... this is soooo much more than a simple sketch.  Wow!

check out more of Randy's stuff here.

"This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.

I suppose it wouldn't be accurate to call this one a sketch. I had been itching to do something a bit more elaborate with my markers, but wasn't sure what. I found a particular production still of Natalie Portman as Padme, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. So here is Padme, as best as I could represent her.

Pencil on paper, cool gray, warm gray, and black markers. Lots of reference."

Week 17 - Queen Amidala by Stephane De Caneva

A great addition of Queen Amidala by Stephane.  I am totally amazed how he did this, only drawing one half of the picture... just wow.

check out more of his stuff here.

"Padme/Queen Amidala, done for :iconillustriousbits: week 17
I've been a little bit lazy this time : I only drew the left part of the picture, then I mirrored it :P
Hope you'll enjoy the result though :)

Week 17 - Queen Amidala By Rich Bernatovech

Here's my contribution to Week 17 here on Illustrious Bits! This week's subject is Queen Amidala or Padme from Star Wars. I decided to do a little cleaner style of coloring with this one. I wanted it to look a little different than others I have done.

Week 16 - Emma Frost by Randy Ostridge

Just a few stragglers from last week (all my fault) Emma Frost week... this one by Randy Ostridge.  Check out more of his stuff here.

"This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.

Sometimes things don't turn out quite like you expected. I wanted to do something with the White Queen where I kind of did a negative space thing with her costume, with heavy lineart only on her fleshy bits. In the end I didn't quite get the effect I was going for. And it didn't help that the scanner blew away all the subtle grays of the fabrics. Well, you never know how something will turn out until you give it a go.

Pencil on paper, cool and warm gray markers, black inks."

Week 16 - Emma Frost By Rich Bernatovech

This week's character for Illustrious Bits is Emma Frost from the X-Men. I really like this character and think she's been a great addition to the team since they added her years ago. I'm kinda happy with how this turned out, lol...but then I saw how I over did the hair. Doh!

Another great addition from Randy.

Check out more here.

"This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.

Did this one pretty quickly while my daughter was colouring some pictures of Rogue (her favouriate X-Man). I always struggle with poses for Nightcrawler because of his "Spider-Man" like contortioning. In the end, I just went with whatever came off the tip of the pencil.

Pencil on paper."

Week 15 - Nightcrawler By Rich Bernatovech

Here's my contribution to Week 15 of Illustrious Bits. This week's subject is Nightcrawler. He was always a fav X-Men of mine and I was shocked that they killed him off. Of course, lol, they brought the "Age of Apocalypse" Nightcrawler over to the real Marvel uiniverse, so basically, he's kind of back. He's always a fun character to draw too. And even though this was a quick sketch, I kind of like the way it turned out.

Week 14 - Harley Quinn by Randy Ostridge

Another great sketch from Randy.

Check out more of his stuff at Deviant Art here.

"This image is for a weekly theme over at the Illustrious Bits sketch group.

I recently got a full set of cool and warm Copic gray markers, and this was my first attempt at blending the two tones. I had been using Prismacolor markers in the past, but they are quite a bit different than Copics. I have to say that I like the Copics much better.

Harley Quinn is a fun character because she has so much attitude. As I have never read a lot of Batman books, most of my exposure to her is from the fantastic Batman: The Animated Series. She is an awesome character in that iteration.

Pencil on paper, inked and coloured with black, cool gray, and warm gray markers."

Week 14 - Harley Quinn by Michelle Sciuto

This One is GREAT!  Perfect!!!

Michelle did Harley in a Batgirl costume... Wonderful!

"Harley as Batgirl drawn and colored in Photoshop. It's Harley week at :iconillustriousbits:and in the Batgirls series poll Harley came out on top, so I figured this was the perfect time to re-do one of my favorite pieces!

"This is for Illustrious Bits' Week 14, Harley Quinn... The first time i saw her was at The Batman animated series way back early 90's, she was so cool. Haven't posted anything for the past 2 weeks... and i did this as fast as i could... bummer... its like 5 minutes for the line art and another 30 minutes for the colors... so sorry."
